Should I clean my carpets in October?

Actually, cleaning your carpets now in October and up until the holiday season is a great time to get your carpets cleaned. We have just finished with summer and a pleasant fall and have had all the doors and windows wide open blowing in what was outside. On any given day we track in dirt but in the summer we get extra help from those warm breezes. Fact: Your carpet is an indoor air filter!! Everything that was once airborn eventually settles into your carpet and like any filter should be cleaned periodically. Cleaning the 'filtered' soil out of the carpet will dramatically improve your indoor air quality now that we are going to be shut in for the next few months. The EPA says that indoor air can be as much as 5 times more polluted than the air outside.

Another reason to clean your carpets is that grit has also blown in and is attacking the carpet fiber just like sand paper. Dry soil damage is the number one enemy to the longevity of your carpet investment. So, why not kill two birds with one stone?

The sooner you schedule your cleaning the better scheduling options you will have heading into the holiday rush. You will also be getting your home looking its best for you and your holiday visitors. You'll be able to check it off your to do list and relax with those who mean the most to you.
